Club Facilities

What's on offer

The Clubhouse complements the splendid surroundings of the Morecambe Golf Course. From the lounges, you can enjoy the breathtaking views and sunsets of Morecambe Bay with the Lakeland Hills beyond. It is the perfect location to complete your day's golf, have a meal or take refreshments. Morecambe Golf Club has a reputation second to none for its friendly atmosphere topped by first class catering and bar facilities.

The Clubhouse was originally built in 1923 and to the highest standards of the time. Even in its very early days the club enjoyed one of the largest memberships in the country. The members have always been determined to maintain these high standards in both the course and clubhouse, which underwent major refurbishment in 1994 continuing with upgrades to the entrance hall in 1999 and new bars in 2003.

Disabled visitors can enjoy full independent wheelchair access to the Clubhouse and function rooms through the main front entance with extra-wide doors. We also provide a dedicated washroom and toilet facility on the same level.Main Lounge and Bar

There are two large lounges adjoining the main bar (including a separate lounge with large flat-screen TV), where members and visitors can enjoy a quiet chat with a wide choice of refreshments and light snacks available during opening hours. A second Member's barMembers Bar and air-conditioned lounge with flat-screen TV is also available on the ground floor. The spacious and modern air-conditioned dining room, which underwent a complete refurbishment in February 2007, will comfortably seat 60 people.

On the first floor, you will find a large air-conditioned snooker room with two full-size tables.

The Clubhouse boasts excellent changing facilities, including separate visitor's changing room with toilet and shower and direct access to the course.

VerandahDuring the summer months probably the most popular location for members and visitors is our purpose built verandah, which on a sunny day is a real sun-trap. With magnificent views of the course and the surrounding fells this is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or bar snack whilst analysing or contemplating your round.

Our well-equipped professional shop offers an extensive range of the latest golf equipment and leisure wear by leading manufacturers. Competitive prices with expert guidance on club choice makes this the first stop for all dedicated golfers.Professional's Shop

Our resident Golf Professional, Simon Fletcher, provides tuition and "state of the art" club customisation to members and visitors using his unique indoor golf training facility and dedicated practice ranges.

All visiting golfers are requested to report to the Pro-Shop on arrival to confirm tee times and advice on course conditions. The first tee is monitored continuously by closed circuit TV.

We are in a position to offer a full range of golf packages and facilities, including corporate golf days and company days. Visiting parties are especially welcome to enjoy all the facilities on offer using one of our set packages. The Steward will accommodate any special requests and arrange a suitable location for prize presentations.

The Clubhouse is also available for hire for member's private functions, such as weddings (CLICK here for typical Reception Layouts), birthdays, training seminars, etc.

Finally, a word on Dress Code within the Club house and on the course. In order to make the use of club facilities as free and enjoyable as possible it is hoped that both members and visitors will read and abide by the the Club Dress Code. We like to make all visitors welcome but do expect certain dress standards to be maintained; following the simple guidelines will avoid any unnecessary admonishment by club officials.

A warm welcome awaits everyone. [top]
