Members
If you would like to join Morecambe Golf Club as a Full Member or are a member of another club over 50 miles distant and would like to become a Country Member then read on........Membership details:
In order to join Morecambe Golf Club you need to obtain four sponsors who are full members of at least three year's standing. If you are new to the area and cannot obtain sponsorship a letter of introduction from your previous golf club will suffice. If you have never been a member of another club and are unable to obtain sponsorship then a letter to this effect, attached to your application, will help to start the process.
There is no waiting list at the present time. On receipt of a valid application, details will be posted on the main notice board until the next Director's Board meeting. Once an application is provisionally approved an interview with two Directors will be arranged on a "get to know you" basis where club rules and etiquette can be explained and any questions answered.
Ladies
Application procedure is identical to that for gentlemen except that final interview and approval will be handled by the Ladies Committee.
Juniors
Junior applicants must be eight years of age or over and require sponsorship as for the above categories. Interviews (if required) are less formal and aimed more at assessing the degree of supervision likely to be required. Juniors attaining the age of 18 years qualify for an Intermediate Playing Subscription phased over 17 years.
Country
The qualification for Country membership is that you must live at least 50 miles from the Club. It is not necessary to be a playing member of another golf club but you will need to have or obtain a handicap in order to play in competitions.
Social
The golf club provides a warm and friendly welcome to non-playing members, who may take advantages of ALL club facilities except for playing on the course itself. Even if you are a playing member of any other golf club, or no club at all, why not join up and enjoy our bars and restaurant as well as taking part in the many social events and dinner dances. If you are keen on snooker or billiards then you can also enjoy our two fine snooker tables.
Corporate Membership
If you run a business and would like the opportunity to play golf with your clients or allow members of your staff to play then why not consider taking out a Corporate Golf Membership? This category grants the holder up to 100 rounds of golf for an annual subscription of £1,000. That works out at just £10.00 per round.
This category is not open to existing members of Morecambe Golf Club and any Corporate Member will require to be a member of another golf club in order to hold a valid active handicap. Morecambe Golf Club will not hold or be responsible for the handicap records of participants. Corporate Members and their nominated players will not be allowed to compete in Club competitions but will enjoy all the other benefits of Club membership including great bar prices and full use of the catering facilities.
