15th Hole

Fifteenth hole view

Features

This hole returns across the valley and dyke and is virtually the 14th in reverse, with the wind on your back. The fairway has recently been altered to form a "dog-leg" right. The dyke can be carried by most golfers and the small sand trap to the left edge at 188 yards should pose no problem. New conifers on the right will collect a fade but at present these are staked and relief may be obtained. A long drive over the large copse on the right will almost certainly find the deep rough beyond and be difficult to find. There is also a large sand trap to collect those trying to cut the corner. The green is elevated and blind to most second shots. The apron rises steeply and a large bunker, cut into the bank on the right, awaits. To the left is a steep bank and deep bunker, which collects a poor approach shot.

Pro's Tip

The best line is up the fairway centre line, towards the marker post but any further right risks being blocked out by the trees. The second shot is usually blind but is guided by a marker post at the back of the green. Whilst you should err on the right, ensure you have enough club to miss the severe bunker on that side of the green.
