Club Officials
The faces behind the titles

President - Trevor Bentley
Trevor has been a member of Morecambe Golf Club for almost 50 years, joining as a junior, and was Club Captain in 1996. He is a very keen sportsman, with a particular love of Rugby Union football and is a past player and still a member of Vale of Lune Rugby Club. He is no mean golfer either, playing off a handicap of 12. Trevor has been closely involved with the Competitions Committee for many years and acted as Treasurer for the last two. He also applies his considerable business skills to running the Club's annual Pro/Am tournament.

Captain - David Scott
David Scott has been a member of Morecambe Golf Club for 30 years and has served the club as a Director. He is a keen sportsman and, like the President, particularly interested in Rugby Union football where he played to a high standard. Now retired, David spent his professional career in telecommunications, with secondments in Africa and the United States, finishing his career in a senior management post with British Telecom.

Lady Captain - Vanessa Skelcher
Golf has been a family affair for our new Lady Captain, Vanessa, who joined Morecambe Golf Club in the late 60's when her parents Lees and Audrey Fearn introduced her to the game. When Vanessa was first married to her husband Paul they played in mixed events at the Club. Vanessa gave up golf for a while until their two sons Daniel and John Skelcher showed an interest in the game and they joined as junior members, both serving as Junior Captains in their late teens at Morecambe Golf Club. Daniel is now a PGA professional in Yorkshire and John has continued being a member at Morecambe.
Vanessa is delighted and honoured to take over as Lady Captain and is looking forward to supporting the ladies section and becoming a member of the Board. In her incoming speech at the Ladies AGM Vanessa expressed that she always felt a tremendous happiness when she was at Morecambe Golf Club, whether it be out on the fairways or at the 19th hole, and then wished everybody a happy and successful golfing year, with the hope of sunshine, friendship and not forgetting fun!
